| Chelsea Girl |
Taken from the Ride ep. - It was only the second week of
a new decade and the record came blazing from nowhere. Reminisent
of 'Destroy The Heart' by the House of Love. It was loved by dance
fans as much as the indie kids. |
 |
| Drive Blind |
Taken from the Ride ep. - All it took was one performance
of the track shown on Snub TV and the record went straight into
the national charts. A first for Creation at the time. |
 |
| Like A Daydream |
From the Play ep. - A long and very hot summer started here
with the bands first top 40 hit. It was only their second single
and they were unstoppable. Just like the sleeve, the sold out
ULU gig was covered in daffodils. All this and they still hadn't
signed a record deal. |
 |
| Taste |
From the Fall ep. - The first track to be released from the
Nowhere album. The video was shown on Top Of The Pops, the Roses
had started their five year sabatical and Ride along with The
Charlatans were about to take over. |
 |
| Dreams Burn Down |
From the Fall ep. - It was in the top three of John Peel's
Festive Fifty of 1990. The bands tour of autumn 1990 included
two sold out night at London's Town & Country Club. Only 10
months after releasing the first single. |
 |
| Vapour Trail |
The US single. - Creation asked them to release it in the
UK aswell. This would have propelled them into the Top 10, but
the lads said "No". |
 |
| Unfamiliar |
From the Today Forever ep. - Radio 1 were still refusing
to play it during their daytime shows. The weeks highest new entry
at No.13. Released in March 1991, by the summer Ride headlined
the Slough Festival and supported the Pixies at Crystal Palace
Bowl. It also gave the band their first Top Of The Pops appearance. |
 |
| Leave Them All Behind |
They'd taken the song around the world before even recording
it. The opening track for all the gigs and the next album, an
obvious single. A top 10 hit at No.9, one place higher than the
Jesus and Mary Chain who were the weeks other high new entry. |
 |
| Twisterella |
The second single from 'Going Blank Again'. As pop as Ride
could get, a sure-fire hit, or was it? Radio 1 played it, but
the kids already had the album, thus the single stalled at No.
38. |

| OX4 |
If you called Liam or Peggy Gallagher in 1992, you may have
been greeted with this track on their answerphone. This track
shows the band were starting to show signs of being homesick.
Hindsight says this should have been the second single of 'Going
Blank Again'. |
 |
| Birdman |
First performed live at the Daytripper gigs. After two years
away the band returned in 1994 and Alan McGee was telling everyone
this was the best Creation single since 'Higher Than The Sun'.
The song was to give the band their last Top 40 hit and their
last Top Of The Pops appearance. |
 |
| From Time To Time |
Penned by Mark and Steve, 'From Time to Time' was an outstanding
album track from Carnival of Light. The band performed it at the
Creation Undrugged celebrations at the Royal Albert Hall. |
 |
| How Does It Feel To Feel? |
A cover of a track by The Creation from the 60's. The band
invited all their fans to come down and appear in the video at
The Garage, London. It was the band's first single not to go Top
40 since the Ride ep. |
 |
| I Don't Know Where It Comes From |
The closing track from Carnival of Light featuring Christchurch
Cathedral School Choir. Released over two excellent CD singles,
one featuring the Unplugged performance, the other featuring mixes
including a Portishead remix of 'Moonlight Medicine'. |
  |
| Black Nite Crash |
It was all over and Ride were just about to release one of
their best singles. Black Nite Crash quite literally rocked. Interviews
promoting the single weren't about the music anymore, only the
arguments. This song was sadly overlooked. |
