Ride - Original Album Series

Ride have released a 5CD boxset including their 4 studios and the 1994 Japanese compilation ‘Cosmic Carnival’ in card replica sleeves.

Although the tracklisting for each album does not include the additional EP tracks featured on the 2001 remasters, this is the first time ‘Cosmic Carnival’ has been released outside of Japan.

Tracks featured on ‘Cosmic Carnival’ are:
1. At the End of the Universe
2. I Don’t Know Where It Comes From
3. Let’s Get Lost
4. Don’t Let It Die
5. Walkabout
6. Moonlight Medicine
7. Rolling Thunder #2
8. I Don’t Know Where It Comes From
9. Journey to the End of the Universe

You can order the album from Amazon for a bargain price of £11.99 by clicking here.

The release follows other similar sets by The Jesus & Mary Chain and Slowdive.

  1. This release has not been approved by the band and is currently being legally contested with a view to having it withdrawn from release as soon as possible.
The tracklisting on Amazon is incorrect as the bonus tracks featured on the UK reissues aren’t featured on these releases.
Also these are not the Abbey Road remastered versions of the tracks.
The artwork has just been knocked together cack-handedly by just scanning the CD front and back instead of using the original images. The publishing information is 13 years out of date!
Cosmic Carnival is a Japan-only release compiling the various EP tracks from the Carnival of Light era. This compilation has only ever been approved for release in Japan.
And if you were going to put together a 5-CD Ride box set then wouldn’t you use Smile?
Warners have changed so much over the years.
