Sonic Cathedral

Uncut reports that acclaimed UK indie label Sonic Cathedral is set to release a tribute album to former 13th Floor Elevators frontman Roky Erickson.

‘The Psychedelic Sounds Of The Sonic Cathedral’ features contributions from the likes of Dead Meadow, A Place To Bury Strangers and an appearance from Erickson himself.

Erickson will be backed by My Bloody Valentine’s Kevin Shields and The Black Angels on a live rendition of 13th Floor Elevators’ classic, ‘Roller Coaster’.

The album will be released on June 7.

Sean Jackson

After more than a decade away, Sean Jackson of 18 Wheeler returns with his debut solo album.

We caught up with him to talk about his time on the label, upsetting Kate Moss, gigging with Kim Fowley, life since the 90’s heyday and working with Joe Foster again on his excellent new album.

Tony Da Gatorra and Gruff Rhys
Tony Da Gatorra and Gruff Rhys have collaborated together on an album entitled ‘The Terror Of Cosmic Loneliness’.

Tony explains: “Hello, peace my brothers, this record was made with lots of feelings and true love to bring consciousness and show a little bit of truth that needs to be said without hypocrisy. We are creatures of God, so there’s no death. Spirit is light, all evil won’t prevail – there’s no evil when it crashes with goodwill.”

The ‘experimental’ record will be released on 26th July supported by a handful of shows, including Camp Bestival and Field Day:

Ulrich Schnauss - Missing Deadlines

Mark Gardener (Ride), Rachel Goswell and Mojave 3 (Slowdive) all feature on the long-awaited remix album by Ulrich Schnauss.

This is not one of your normal remix albums as he gives each track his own unqiue sound. Those of you who are unfamiliar with his work should definitely check this out. Currently playing keyboards for The Engineers, Ulrich is due to release his forth album later this year following 2007′s ‘Goodbye’ album.
