The Jasmine Minks have released a new EP of unreleased tracks from 1992 with all proceeds from the EP going to MacMillan Cancer Support charity.
The website states: “Oatcake Records are proud to release as their inaugural record, a Jasmine Minks 4 track CD ‘Poppy White’ recorded in 1992 and never before released. This 4 track ep is dedicated to the memory of 2 guys very important in the Minks, sadly with us no more. All proceeds from this sale will go to the MacMillan Cancer Support charity. mp3 versions are available from i-tunes, amazon, 7digital, tesco and many more places throughout the world.”
Uncut reports that acclaimed UK indie label Sonic Cathedral is set to release a tribute album to former 13th Floor Elevators frontman Roky Erickson.
‘The Psychedelic Sounds Of The Sonic Cathedral’ features contributions from the likes of Dead Meadow, A Place To Bury Strangers and an appearance from Erickson himself.
Erickson will be backed by My Bloody Valentine’s Kevin Shields and The Black Angels on a live rendition of 13th Floor Elevators’ classic, ‘Roller Coaster’.
The album will be released on June 7.

Tony Da Gatorra and Gruff Rhys have collaborated together on an album entitled ‘The Terror Of Cosmic Loneliness’.
Tony explains: “Hello, peace my brothers, this record was made with lots of feelings and true love to bring consciousness and show a little bit of truth that needs to be said without hypocrisy. We are creatures of God, so there’s no death. Spirit is light, all evil won’t prevail – there’s no evil when it crashes with goodwill.”
