Beady Eye

Beady Eye have announced details of their debut album. The bands website states:

BEADY EYE release their eagerly anticipated debut album ‘DIFFERENT GEAR, STILL SPEEDING’ on 28th February 2011 on Beady Eye Records. The album features 13 brand new songs written by the band and was recorded at RAK Studios in autumn 2010 with producer Steve Lillywhite.

A taster for the album, ‘Bring The Light’, was made available for fans on the 9th November here at beadyeyemusic.com and was downloaded or played over 350,000 times in 24 hours. The VIDEO has received over 600,000 hits since it was premiered a week later.

The band (Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock) also put their first UK tour on sale on 26th November with tickets selling out within 30 minutes. They will be joined by Matt Jones on keyboards and Jeff Wootton on bass for these dates and the European shows which follow the UK gigs. The full details of the UK dates can be seen HERE!

Screamadelica Box Set

With Primal Scream’s Olympia shows just days away, a host of announcements have been made to celebrate Screamadelica’s 20th anniversary.

First there is the collectors edition of the album housed in a 12″ circular box set, this will consist of four remastered CDs, including the original album as well as previously unreleased ‘Live in L.A. 1991′, a CD of the original remixes and 7″/12″ Mixes and a remastered version of the ‘Dixie-Narco EP’. Ride

Ride’s debut album ‘Nowhere’ is to reissued on December 21st to mark the albums 20th anniversary.

According to Pitchfork the new edition includes a remastered version of the original album’s U.S. edition, as well as the 1991 EP Today Forever and an unreleased 1991 live show. It’ll come packaged as a hardback book, along with a 40-page booklet featuring photos and an essay by critic Jim DeRogatis.

Max Eider - Dissaffection
Long-term member of the Jazz Butcher, Max Eider recently released his latest album ‘Dissaffection’ via Tundraducks records.

Those of you who have followed the Jazz Butcher closely will know Max was orginally in the band from 1982 until 1986 and he later rejoined in 1995.

Foxtrot Echo Lima Tango

Many of you may have missed the recent release of a rather excellent 160 page fanzine on Felt, the book had a limited pressing of 500 copies and sold out in a couple of days.

Due to the high volume of emails the writers received after the fanzine sold out, a second (and final) edition has been pressed which is now available to order online.

Jonny
NME reports that Teenage Fanclub’s Norman Blake and ex-Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci frontman Euros Childs have formed a new musical project named Jonny.

The pair will release a four-track free EP, simply titled ‘Free EP’, on November 10 and will tour in early 2011.

The songs set for the EP are ‘Gloria’, ‘Beach Party’, ‘Continental’ and a cover of The 23rd Turnoff’s ‘Michael Angelo’. They are set to release a full album next year.
